The Beypore International Water Festival, hailed as the country's largest water festival, propels Kozhikode as the main centre for adventure water sports in the country. Embracing this grand celebration, the city becomes a vibrant host to an array of water sports events, culinary extravaganzas, and opulent arts and music galas. As part of this spectacular affair, the Nallur Mini Stadium in Kozhikode will showcase the Responsible Tourism Fest, International Textile and Art Fest, and a lively Flea Market. Renowned textile artists and craftsmen representing over 20 states will lead engaging workshops, enriching the event with diverse cultural perspectives.
People can experience adrenaline-pumping water sports such as white water kayaking, sit-on-top (SOT) kayaking, bamboo rafting, sailing regatta, country boat races, sea kayak races, angling, and wing foiling. Local competitions including wooden boat paddling, net casting, and fishing will engage the local community, fostering a spirited atmosphere.
Additionally, people can also witness thrilling demonstrations featuring paramotoring, flyboarding, rowing demonstrations, surfing, sea rafting, windsurfing, and surf skiing.
Another major highlight of the event is the Mega Food Fest, an incredible showcase of Kozhikode's ethnic culinary delights. Visitors can also delight in the mesmerising music and art exhibits held at the distinguished venues of Beypore, Chaliyam, and Nellur, further enhancing the festival's allure.
