Beemapally Dargah Shereef in Thiruvananthapuram celebrates the annual Uroos festival popularly known as Chandanakkudam Mahotsavam. The event begins on Jama dul Akbar of the Hijra calendar with a flag hoisting and lasts for 11 vibrant days.
The festival commemorates the death anniversary of Saint Sayyidhathunissa Beema Beevi and her son Ashaikhu Sayidushaheed Maheen Aboobaker who were laid to rest at the Dargah Shereef. They are believed to belong to the family of Prophet Mohammad.
