Children’s literature

Mathew M. Kuzhiveli is a writer who made a lot of contributions to children’s literature in Malayalam. K. C. Chacko, Joseph Cheruvathur, K. A. Paul, Fr. Reynolds, A. T. Devassy and George Nellayi are some of the debutants in this genre. The first Malayalam book for children was "Cherupaithangalkku Upakarartham Englishil Ninnu Paribashapeduthia Kathakal", published in 1824. This book was aimed at instilling moral values in children. T. P. John, Pala K. M. Mathew, Joyen Kumarakom, and Sippi Pallipuram are some of the notable writers in this stream.
