The devotion for St. Antony

This began to spread in Kerala from the 17th century. His Feast and Novena are being observed at Pazhuvil, Ollur, Chettikad and Kalloor.  Fishermen keep the picture of St. Antony in their boats, while venturing into the sea.

The feast at Chettikad church on St. Antony’s Feast day is very famous. People from all walks of life participate in the string of prayers called Novena.
