Loka Pookkalam

(Global Pookkalam Competition 2022)

Kerala Tourism invites all of you to participate in the Loka Pookkalam (Global Pookkalam Competition) 2022. It's time to show your creativity and teamwork.

The online contest is divided into two categories — one for people residing in Kerala and the other for those outside the state. All individuals and institutions/associations/organisations are eligible to participate in the competition, which will begin on August 17, 2022 and conclude on September 16, 2022 midnight (IST).

There is no age limit or entry fee for this contest. Just check in to www.keralatourism.org/contest/pookkalam2022/. Fill in your basic details for registration. You will get a registration code by email upon successful registration. Do mark the registration code on the floor beside the Pookkalam (Floral Carpet) and the year in a legible format.

Take two images - a nice photograph of the Pookkalam along with the registration code & year and another photo of participant (s) with/without family members alongside the Pookkalam. Login to the website and upload the images.

Kindly note that entries without registration code in the prescribed format would be summarily rejected. Do add a title and a short description. Image file must be in .jpg format, having a maximum size of 10 mb.

A maximum of five entries can be uploaded under each category. The deadline is 12 midnight (Indian Standard Time) of September 16, 2022. In case of any technical issues while uploading photos, participants may write to contest@keralatourism.org

Prizes

Best three entries in each category will receive exciting prizes. Hurry up!

Judging Committee

An expert or a panel of experts approved by the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala, will initially scrutinize the entries as and when received. This committee will screen the entries, and select the best 100 among them.

A judging committee, appointed by the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala, will further evaluate these selected entries and decide the winners. The judgement will be made on the basis of the artistic worth of the Pookkalam as well as the "likes" they receive in the media. So, don't forget to share your nominations across social media platforms to garner public support.

All the participants are requested to carefully read, understand and agree with the Terms & Conditions prior to entry as they form a legally binding agreement with respect to this Contest. Further, the participant agrees that the submission of an entry in the Contest constitutes their agreement to the Terms and Conditions of the Contest.
