Pookaalam word is a group of two words ‘Poov’ and ‘kalam’, Where ‘Poov’ means flowers and ‘Kalam’ means colour sketch. So, basically it’s a flower rangoli or flower carpet made on the floor in front of the house to celebrate Onam. It is also known as Onapookalam and In the center of this pookaalam there is a cute, adorable baby Krishna lying in the cradle with his flute, happily surrendered by different colours of flowers. This festival teaches us the value of love, generosity and unity. I hope everyone had a great onam and had a delicious onasadhya!!!
