Aralam – A Biodiversity Haven
Nestled in the majestic folds of the Western Ghats in Kannur district, Kerala, Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary is a vibrant tapestry of life, teeming with a diverse array of flora and fauna. This sanctuary, spanning over 55 square kilometers, is a true biodiversity haven, offering a serene escape into nature’s abundant beauty.
Visitors enter the sanctuary through the lush green Aralam Farm, a thriving agricultural hub filled with swaying coconut palms, cashew nut groves, and a variety of other plantations. Aralam Farm is one of the country’s primary centers for the production of hybrid coconut seeds, adding an agricultural charm to the journey into the wild.

On the way to the falls, visitors are treated to a stop at the Pothenplavu watchtower, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the reserved forests and the Western Ghats.
