This less explored destination in the southern part of western ghats mountain range is famous for a series of 12 falls in a range of 5 kilometres and the meandering rivers gracefully winding across the woods are a sight to behold.Â
The waterfalls can be reached with a 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) trek. The trek through the forest, though moderately challenging, rewards you with breathtaking views and a refreshing connection to nature.

How to Get There
The lesser-known tourist destination is located about 18 km from Thodupuzha in the Idukki district. It is well-connected by road, and the nearest major town, Thodupuzha, has good transportation facilities. Visitors can hire taxis or take local buses to reach the falls.
The ideal time to visit Thommankuthu is between September and March when the weather is pleasant, and the waterfalls are in full flow.
Comfortable trekking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a camera are essential.
While the area is generally safe, it’s advisable to stay on marked trails and avoid venturing too close to the edge of the waterfalls.
