Spread over two acres of wooded land, VMK Botanical Garden is a private botanical garden owned by V. Mohammed Koya. Located 20 km east of Kozhikode on the Kozhikode-Wayanad state highway, the garden showcases a remarkable collection of 250 varieties of plants, including various types of bamboo, palms, medicinal plants, ficus, sandalwood, olive, chestnut tree, Kadamba tree (Antheocephalus Indicus), and cinchona.

The garden's inception dates back to 1991 when Mohammed Koya, inheriting an acre of land from his father, chose to dedicate it exclusively to trees. His dedication and numerous journeys across the country and abroad in search of rare species transformed the hilltop overgrown with cashew trees into a botanical paradise.
