Dutch King and Queen’s Kerala visit

The King of Netherlands Willem-Alexander and his wife Queen Maxima arrived in Kochi on a special flight from Mumbai on 17 October 2019. The royal couple who are visiting Kerala for the first time met Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister and other ministers of the State Government. The royal couple toured to Alappuzha and spend time in a houseboat on the famed backwaters. They also made a visit to Mattancherry Palace in Kochi.

Earlier, they were accorded a traditional reception at the International Airport at Nedumbassery by Kathakali artistes and those representing other art forms. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan; Mr. Ravindranath, Minister for Education; Mr. Tom Jose, Chief Secretary; Mr. Loknath Behera, State Police Chief; Mr. S. Suhas, District Collector and Mr K. Karthik, District Police Chief (Ernakulam Rural) were present to receive the couple
