Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary

Welcome to Peppara Wildlife sanctuary. You can spend a whole day with family watching the dam and the placid lake disturbed only by raptors who wheel around the blue sky waiting for the perfect moment for the dive, for the kill. Beyond, your eyes fall on the rich foliage on the banks of the lake.

In earlier days the English men had plantations deep inside the woods. They traversed up along these woods to places like Braimore, Ponmudi, Bonacaud, and Athirumala where they had tea and coffee estates. There were few vehicles, so they rode up the hills on their horses, leaving behind tracks, which are still visible inside the forest in patches.
