Around 12 sq. km of forest is a tiny bit of wooded land when compared to many other wildlife sanctuaries of the state, but Pambadum Shola, in Idukki district is so dense with the wildness that a trek inside would give you all that rush of adrenaline you’d ever want to in a lifetime. In order to protect its fragile environment and biological wealth, Pambadum Shola declared it as a National Park in the year 2003. Months from April to September have pleasant climate and is the ideal time to visit the park.
Want to get the best deal from Pambadum Shola? A trek to Vattavada from the park will take you right through the most picturesque parts of the woods. This 3 hours trekking through the shola grasslands will charm you with views of the rolling green hills and the blue mountains and the stunted trees of a shola forest.
