There are two locations in Kerala that feature some of the oldest teak trees in the world.
One is the Kannimara Teak Tree at Parambikulam in Palakkad district of Kerala. This majestic tree is estimated to be over 450 years old and stands at a height of approximately 156 ft. and has a massive girth of 21.5 ft. The Kannimara teak tree is revered by the local tribes and is a popular tourist attraction in the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve.
The other one is the teak in Conolly Plot in Nilambur, which is in Malappuram district of Kerala.
Perhaps not home to the oldest individual tree, the teak plantation in Conolly Plot in Nilambur, Kerala is home to the oldest teak plantation in the world. Established in the 1840s by the British collector H.V. Conolly, this teak plantation has numerous mature teak trees, some estimated to be over 100 years old.
Though the 'oldest teak tree' title is a debatable one, Kerala is obviously home to some of the oldest and magnificent teak trees in the world.
