Night Experience

Switch off the light at the Sit out/Porch for the maximum enjoyment at the night with the unique pleasure and relaxation. Watch the sky, stars, moon, fireworks on the opposite side of the lake in Temples and Churches at Alappuzha district, experience the gentle breeze, sound of the waves in the lake and the unique silence of the night and the natural sound of the lake at night. Floodlit Walkers Path are there for enjoyment and pleasure walking during night.

Fishing From The Lake

You can catch fish with Fishing Rod in the early morning, and also by using other fishing net, in the night, you may get lot of small and bigger fish. You can contact at the reception for the fishing rod and other accessories for catching fish.

Ghoose & Rabbit Feeding

It is very interesting to watch the activities of Goose and Rabbit. You can watch the Ghoose when it is swimming and have bath in the small pond. You can also feed the goose and rabbits by providing them grass and other eatables supplied by our staff.

Small Honey Bee Watching (Meliponiculture)

We have ten colonies of stingless bees in wooden boxes. They are part of biodiversity, These bees are local species, perfectly adapted to the environment. We usually takes the Honey during February /March and during November/ December we make another wooden colony of bees from each existing colonies. Usually we may get around 100 to 200 grams of honey from each colony.

Visit The Organic Farm And Fruit Trees In The Property

We have organic fruit trees & vegetation in the eastern side of the property on the side of our walkers’ path. We get vegetables from this farm for making some tasty dishes and also get various fruits.

Houseboat,  Motorboat, Shikara & Speedboat Day Cruising 

We provide Cruising through  Vembanad Lake, Kumarakom Backwaters, , Sightseeing through the lake Side Hotels/Resorts, R.block, C block and Alleppey Backwaters, Kumarakom Backwaters, Metran Kayal, Sunset Cruising and Kumarakom round Cruising. Moreover we arrange Cruising around Birds Sanctuary, Midnight land, Kavanattinkara, Kaippuzhamuttu, Thanneermukkham Bund,   Aymanam Cruising,  Cruising from Choolabhagom for visiting Moolepadam and 900 Paddy fields for viewing weaver birds nest, water lotus etc.

Country Walk During Early Morning

You can have morning walk by visiting temples or churches or by enjoying the beauty of Kumarakom Village to the following places from your cottage. Nalupank Houseboat Terminal 3 Kms, Kumarakom market through tourism road 3 km, Kumarakom Boat Jetty and the Cross on the Lakeside 3 Kms.

Birds Sanctuary &  Moolepadam & 900 Paddy field Visit.

Hundreds of  weaver birds constructing their nests can be seen in coconut trees and other trees on the bund of the paddy fields of Moolepadam & 900 Paddy fields. Over there lot of red water lilies in the canals of Moolepadam is another beauty.

Ayurveda Massage,Treatment And Yoga

You will have the facilities to do or getting the training of Yoga Classes,during early morning or at the time of Sunset on the bank of the lake Vembanad. We can arrange Yoga Trainers at short notice. Ayurvedic whole body massage, treatment, facial etc can be  arranged as per your prior request. The above places are within 4 km from the property and by using fishing road you will get big pearl spot fish(Karimeen) which is very tasty.

Vellavali—Unique Type of Fishing

You can watch this unique type of fishing from ILLIKKALAM Lakeside Cottages or take a motorboat into the lake for few hours and can experience into it. One of the very strange way of fishing in these region is Vellavali, and only one type of fish called, Karimeen (Pearl spot) is caught by bare hand by fishermen by this way of fishing called Vellavali. 

Activity Hall For The Family Get Together

There is an activity hall ,which is suitable for the gathering of more than 100 people, it can be used for the get-together during night and also during the rainy season.
