Yakshagana Puppet Show, a famous art form of the undivided Dakshina Kannada (present-day Kasaragod and Karnataka) is inspired by Yakshagana, the classical theatre art form. Like any other temple-based theatre art forms, the themes are taken from Indian epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata.
