"Nature is the biggest difference that I find in Kerala when compared to other destinations in the world," says Mariann Nemes from Hungary. "Kerala has a unique landscape. The greenery, palm trees, the abundance of water together make this land one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. This is my second visit to Kerala and I'm still excited," says Mariann. She is the marketing manager of 'Sun and Fun Holidays', a Budapest based tour operator.
"I have always been fascinated by the culture of Kerala. The land, people, festivals, art forms... for me it's a deluge of colours. I have been to the north of Kerala once. I was welcomed by the multi-hued ritualistic art form Theyyam. I was really awestruck by that art form. Bekal was another attraction that captivated my mind in the northern Kerala. The Bekal Fort with its mighty walls ever caressed by the hands of the waves was truly a different experience."
"Fort Kochi is another favourite destination of mine. I love the atmosphere there. As it is said the past comes alive at Fort Kochi. Kovalam is my favorite beach. I also love the food of Kerala. I'm amazed by the variety in the cuisine of Kerala. Equally lovable are the people of this place. They are calm and kind. One will always feel welcome here."
Mariann has learned many things from India especially Kerala. Out of those achievements what she cherishes most is her acquaintance with the 5000-year-old healing system of Ayurveda. "The idea of Panchakarma which is a cleansing and rejuvenating program for the body and mind amazed me. I find that very interesting," says Mariann. She took a course in Ayurveda from India and now she herself is a masseur.
"Surely this place will never cease to beguile me and this won't be my last visit to Kerala. I will surely recommend Kerala to all my friends and relatives," Mariann adds.
