For Graham Hodder, just being in Kerala is itself a wonderful experience. But this enterprising businessman from UK didn't want to be a tourist here all the time. Hence, he entered into the travel and tour business in Kerala and became the director of Kestrel Holidays a well-known tour operator in Aluva, Kerala.
"It's been ten years since I started my rapport with this land. The land has a unique culture and geography that is very attractive. No doubt, it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. People here are honest, warm and welcoming, they are the best in the country, I would say. Frankly speaking, it is one of the few destinations in the world where tourist are not cheated. Tourism is handled very well in the State. Tourist visa taxes are comparatively lesser in Kerala. We at Kestrel Holidays aim to provide the most carefree and enjoyable holidays to Kerala and the Lakshadweep Islands" says Mr. Hodder.
When it comes to the matter of destinations Mr. Hodder has many personal choices. "Munnar, Thekkady and Wayanad with their comforting greenery are some of my favourite destinations in Kerala. The land has very many varieties of experiences to offer. We have adventure trekking, backwater cruise, bamboo rafting and many more. Monsoon in Kerala is a totally different experience. It is a time when the land is at her wildest and most attractive form. Government has to promote more eco-friendly activities in the field of tourism. The forests, mountains, beaches and backwaters of Kerala are truly irresistible," observes Mr. Hodder enthusiastically.
"Ayurveda is another area that is exclusive to Kerala. This ancient healthcare system can be promoted anywhere around the globe. Food of Kerala is also very tempting. I enjoy all kinds of Kerala food. Truly Kerala is destination No. 1 on the tourism map of India," says Mr. Hodder.
