It’s the Journey that Matters

Imagine how mesmerising will it be to relish the riot of colours that nature creates as the morning unfolds in the rustic hamlets of Kerala.
Spread your wings and flutter through the fairytale villages of God’s Own Country.

The Village Life Experience packages of the Responsible Tourism Mission are ready to become the wind beneath the wings of your dreams. Peek into the symphony of bucolic life and try to be a note to their music.

Experience the life, lifestyle, culture and age-old traditions of Kerala up close. RT Mission offers Village Life Experience, Cultural Experience and Festival packages for the tourists. Currently the Mission has packages in all major tourist destinations of Kerala such as Kumarakom, Wayanad, Thekkady, Kannur, Bekal, Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram.
Letting the journey surprise you with the hidden gems that you discover unknowingly, like the art of traditional artisans and the rhythm of daily chores of villagers, is certainly delightful.

Kumarakom, a green paradise with stretches of tranquil backwaters situated in the Kottayam district of Kerala bestows you one such surreal experience. At present the Mission offers two Village Life Experience packages: A Day with Farmers and Beyond the Backwaters. Touch the soul of Kerala through several native experiences like coconut tree climbing, screw pine and coconut leaf weaving, pottery making, boating, fishing, coir making, and farm and paddy field visits.

The magical beauty of Wayanad is a favourite among the natives and foreigners alike. Apart from its enchanting greenery, the place is soaked in the fragrance of a rich tradition and the culture of its unique tribal groups. RT Mission currently offers 4 spellbinding experiences in Wayanad that include: A Day at Chetyalathoor, Cheruvayal, Nellarachal and Thekkumthara

Every journey has a story to narrate so does a trip to Thekkady. Discover the lesser known parts of Thekkady from the aromatic spice and tea plantations to local farms and tribal dances through ‘A Day for the Small Joys’ package.

Two exclusive packages offered by RT Mission in Bekal are the ‘Valiyaparamba Package’ and ‘A Day with Artisans’. If you wish to feel the warmth of the sleepy hamlets of Kerala then you should definitely go for these.

A journey to the city of lores and looms is perhaps one way of ensuring that we Keralities admire, protect and celebrate our ancient as well as modern art and craftsmanship equally. Kunhimangalam, the Bell Metal Heritage Village and the Weavers Society are still kept in its pristine form in Kannur. Now the place offers a one day and two half day packages.

Yet another spectacular carnival that awaits you is Kerala’s own Onam, the harvest festival. Celebrated with much pomp and pageantry, this fiesta showcases the identity of Kerala through a smorgasbord of rites and customs that range from the traditional feast to the dynamic pulikali and Vallamkali (boat race). So come soak yourself in the festive spirit of Onam this year with the Nattinpurangalil Onam Unnam Onam Sammanagal Vaangam package.

Kerala calling! Come, celebrate every moment!
