Ambanad Hills - where Solitude rules

Tucked away deep in Punalur taluk of Kollam district is Ambanad, a quaint hill station that bestows upon you stunning panoramic views of majestic hills and green-carpeted meadows.

Ambanad hill is one of the most picturesque places in entire south Kerala. You are sure to get knocked over by the mesmerizing view, as the place offers you scenes of the valley with seemingly endless stretches of the towering Western Ghats and Achankovil Forest.

Ambanad offers you a memorable journey with its matchless beauty and pristine landscapes.

Do you know what Ambanad’s greatest treasure is?

SOLITUDE.

As it is a less explored slice of heaven, you won’t find many tourists here, and you will get enough time to connect with the magic of the verdant green.

With its vast expanses of tea and rubber plantations, this hill station with an estate is a perfect getaway for a happy weekend. Apart from its magical vistas, the place has small streams and cascades. Here you can take dips in the magnificent splendour of Mother Nature and have a truly memorable experience.

Head to Ambanad to fall in love with a host of exciting experiences – from quietly watching the dense, low, dancing clouds that seem to touch the rain-soaked hills to take a lazy stroll over the lush green valleys.

You can see an old factory, established by the British here, which still uses ancient British machinery. The factory and the estate belong to Travancore Rubber and Tea Company.

The entrance fee to the estate is Rs. 100 and Rs. 20 for adults and children respectively. The place also has accommodation facilities in the bungalows that are on offer for a rent of Rs. 2500 and an additional Rs. 250 for food.

Perfect for relaxing, rejuvenating and recharging, Ambanad Hills is the best choice for Nature enthusiasts looking for an escape from the madding crowd.
