Palakkayam Thattu - Paradise Found

Tired of routine schedules?

Palakkayam Thattu beckons you! Pack your bags and take the road to this bewitchingly beautiful, verdant hill station! Soaring at an altitude of 3500 ft above sea level, in the land of Theyyam and Thira, this place is carving a new face for Kannur with its novel tourism programmes.

Tucked away deep in the majestic Western Ghats, Palakkayam Thattu is similar to Paithalmala hill station and is now attracting hordes of tourists from far and wide, with its pristine, natural exquisiteness.

Sauntering through the lush foliage and over-hanging clouds in this serene hillock is one of the most exciting experiences you may ever have. The abundant flora and fauna in the region add to the attractiveness of the spot.

From the check post through the bamboo bushes, you can reach the entrance of this hillock. Metal benches have been set up at the top where you can settle down, and let time ebb away.

If you love outdoor camping in the wilderness, Palakkayam offers that too. Here, tents are erected on cemented platforms on safe, fenced-in areas.

For adventure enthusiasts, Palakkayam offers zipline, rope cross, zorbing ball, gun shooting, archery, and many more activities, guaranteed to give you an adrenaline rush.

Trek to Palakkayam Thattu, stand between the vast blue canopy and the green earth, feel the tender breeze of the region, and take in the impeccable view. The calm stillness of the land is sure to drip peace into your heart.

Paithalmala, one of the tourist hotspots in Kannur district, is located around 4 kms from Palakkayam Thattu. So while visiting Palakkayam, don’t miss the pristine green expanses of Paithalmala.
