Keralamkundu Waterfalls, Malappuram

Dreaming of a place to take a dip in the cold waters amid lush greenery? Then pack your bags and head to Keralamkundu Waterfalls in the Malappuram district. Located 1,500 feet above sea level in a small village called Karuvarakkundu, Keralamkundu Waterfalls is a sought-after destination in the district.

This waterfall is tucked away from the hustle-bustle of everyday life. We have to carry out a little off-roading and a short trek to reach the place.

Water flowing from the verdant forests of the Western Ghats creates a crystal clear pool at the base of the falls. Falling from a height of 150 feet, this water is believed to have many medicinal properties.

This magnificent destination not only offers you a scenic view but is also rich in biodiversity. As the waterfall is situated deep inside the Silent Valley, it is blessed with a pleasant and calm ambience. The place offers a scenic view of the surrounding forests, and has a natural pool at the centre from which the water keeps flowing down the rocks. The place boasts of a wide variety of flora and fauna. Even if we come during the summer, there is no shortage of water here.

The location is fragrant too, owing to myriad types of traditional, medicinal, aromatic herbs and shrubs.
