Maravanthuruthu in Kottayam district is where Responsible Tourism mission launched the first water STREET project. The STREET project stands for Sustainable, Tangible, Responsible, Experiential, Ethnic Tourism. It was implemented as a participatory tourism development approach on the lines of the World Tourism Organization’s (UNWTO’s) motto ‘Tourism for Inclusive Growth`.
