Looking for a perfect picnic spot in Kannur; head to Vayalapra Floating Park. Kids will simply love it here. There is a sprawling game zone with a raft of attractions. For the adults, a tasty spread of local cuisine, breathtaking views and a stroll along the walkway built over the river plus boating across the shimmering waters; all these at very affordable prices. Even the drive to this floating park is spell binding. Who wouldn't love a drive on a road that snakes along with water on both sides? The joy has just begun and the real fun begins at the park.
Built by the Chemballikundu River, the floating park is located in Vayalapra Parappu, Chemballikundu in Cheruthazham Panchayath. If you plan to go in the afternoon, make sure you are there at the time of sunset. Very few sights can match the experience of viewing the sunset from the floating park. Once you have had your share of fun at the game zone, and tried out the delicious spread of food, go boating. There are quite a few options to pick from; pedal boats, motor boats, mini houseboats and kids’ boats. There are also opportunities for kayaking and group boating. As many as 25 members can go on a family boating.
The game zone is packed with fun. It features bumping cars, snooker and many other games. It doesn't matter how old you are; there will be games for everyone here. Net cricket and 9D cinema are the other added attractions. If you need a massage, book a slot at the fish foot massage centre. Book in advance for one-day tour packages.
A 9D cinema is occasionally available at the park and it costs Rs 100 per head. Fish foot massage is also available. A children’s park is also available with a seesaw, slides and other items. A trampoline has also been set up for children at the park. There are toilets and ample facilities for parking here.
