Palakkayam Thattu

Escape the monotony of daily life with a visit to Palakkayam Thattu, a stunning hill station perched at 3,500 feet above sea level in Kannur. Nestled in the Western Ghats, this serene destination is rapidly becoming a favourite among travellers for its untouched natural beauty and diverse tourism offerings.

Much like the nearby Paithalmala, Palakkayam Thattu attracts visitors with its lush greenery, abundant flora and fauna, and breathtaking views. A walk through the misty hills and dense foliage is an experience unlike any other, offering a rare chance to connect with Nature.

Upon arrival, visitors can relax on metal benches strategically placed to offer panoramic views of the area or indulge in outdoor camping on cemented platforms within secure, fenced areas. For those seeking adventure, Palakkayam Thattu has an array of thrilling activities, including ziplining, rope crossing, zorbing, gun shooting and archery.

The trek to the summit is moderately challenging, making it accessible to most visitors while still providing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It's best to start early to fully enjoy the trek or stay until evening to witness the sunset, where the hilltop glows under the light of thousands of small lamps.
