Uravu Wayanad, located in Thrikkaipetta village, is a prominent tourist attraction in Wayanad, Kerala. This centre is a social organization that promotes skill training activities and eco-tourism, with a focus on bamboo cultivation and craft. Visitors to Uravu can explore traditional handicrafts and the natural beauty of Wayanad, an ideal spot for Nature lovers and those interested in sustainable tourism. 

Uravu is open daily from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with no entry fee. The centre offers a variety of activities, including exploring bamboo plantations and understanding bamboo processing through guided tours of their factory. These tours provide insights into how raw bamboo is transformed into various handicraft items. Uravu also runs custom workshops and training programmes for artisans and indigenous tribes, aiming to develop their bamboo art skills and support economic growth.

Visitors can enjoy Nature walks and trekking around Thrikkaipetta village, which is surrounded by lush bamboo cultivations and mountains. The scenic beauty of the area, coupled with opportunities to learn about bamboo crafts, makes Uravu a unique destination. The village also offers panoramic views of the Western Ghats and the small hill villages of Tamil Nadu.

The Uravu bamboo shop sells exclusive handmade products, including bamboo masks, lampshades, baskets and woven artifacts. These items make for perfect souvenirs of a trip to Wayanad. Occasionally, products made from coconut shells and other natural materials are also available. A visit to Uravu offers a blend of cultural, educational, and natural experiences, making it a must-visit spot in Wayanad.
