Ingredients
Green Gram - 1 bowl
Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli - 2 nos
Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
Grated coconut - 1 small cup
Garlic - 2 cloves
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt
Water

Method of preparation
Soak one cup of green gram overnight. Pour two table spoon of coconut oil into a warm pan. Add mustard seeds to the oil. When the mustards splutter, add two red chillies and curry leaves. Now add soaked and washed green gram to this and add required quantity of salt. Pour water to boil the green gram just above the level of it. Close the pan with its lid and let the green gram get cooked. Grind coarsely one cup of grated coconut with garlic, cumin seeds, chilli powder, turmeric powder and a pinch of salt. Add this coconut mixture on the top of cooked green gram. Cover it once again and cook for few more minutes. Then open the lid and stir well. We can transfer the contents to a bowl after the water completely evaporated. Serve hot.
