Aymanam is derived from two words – ‘ay’ in Tamil which means five and ‘vanam’ in Sanskrit which means forest. The name refers to the five forests (Vattakkadu, Thuruthikkadu, Vallyakadu, Moolakkadu, and Mekkadu) that once existed in the location of the village.
