Mampara Peak

A trek to Mampara peak, about 20 kms from Nelliyampathy, offers a panoramic view of the entire Palakkad range. The view from the peak " with its valleys, lush green forests and paddy fields " is a treat to the eyes. One can also see the dams at Malampuzha, Chulliyar, Meenkara, Mulathara, Walayar and parts of Parambikulam, and a few towns of Tamil Nadu like Pollachi, Coimbatore and Mettupalayam.

The peak is one of the picturesque viewpoints in Nelliyampathy. Elephants, Sambar and leopards are a few of the wildlife species found in this area. These grasslands, caressed by the clouds, make for a uniquely tranquil setting.
