Mangalam Dam

Mangalam dam is a beautiful picnic spot, situated about 50 kms away from Palakkad. The dam is constructed across the Cherukunnapuzha, a tributary of Mangalam river. An irrigation project through canal system was completed and opened here in 1966. The surrounding forest area attracts a lot of visitors to this place. Boat rides are also available in this serene and secluded picnic spot. One can also find many rubber, pepper, tapioca and coffee plantations in this area.
