A quaint village, about 8 kms from Palakkad, Ramassery is known for its exceptional idlis (steamed rice cake) that are different in size, shape, and taste from the common variety. Almost shaped like dosas, these round and flat idlis are so soft and delicious that they have attracted gourmets from far and wide.
The recipes have been a trade secret passed on from generation to generation within a family. The family traces its roots back to the Mudaliyar community that had long back migrated from Tamil Nadu to settle here.
