Seetharkundu

Seetharkundu

Seetharkundu is a stopover en route Nelliyampathy that offers alluring sights of Nature and a panoramic view of one-third of Palakkad town and the nearby areas. One of the main attractions here is the Seetharkundu waterfall that falls from a height of 100 ft.

Seetharkundu also has its share of legends and stories. It is believed that Lord Rama, wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana, the main characters of the Ramayana, stayed here during their Vanavasa (period of exile in the forest). The Agasthya temple here has some amazing murals and wooden sculptures.
