The museum has on display mural paintings, antique bronzes, ancient coins, models of temples, umbrella stones, dolmenoid cists (quadrangular burial chambers with capstones) and similar Megalithic monuments. The adjacent Art Gallery displays paintings of Kerala's cherished artist-monarchs, Raja Ravi Varma (1848 - 1906) and Raja Raja Varma. There is also an exclusive wing devoted to the memorabilia of the late V. K. Krishna Menon, former Indian Defence Minister and national leader.
