This 9 th century temple is the only lake temple in Kerala. The temple is believed to be the Moolasthanam (original seat) of the Ananthapadmanabha Swamy, deity of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram at the southern end of Kerala. The Ananthapuram lake temple is in Kasaragod, the northern most district of Kerala.
