Thunchan memorial

Thunchath Ezhuthachan is considered to be the father of Malayalam language. The birthplace of Ezhuthachan at Tirur is considered as a holy place and is carefully preserved. It was Ezhuthachan, who first brought out the Malayalam versions of Great Indian epics. Things like the stylus he used to write his famous work are on display at the Thunchan Memorial. The tree under which he taught his students is also a treasured exhibit of the memorial. There is a library of ancient and rare manuscripts.
