Wayanad wildlife sanctuary |
The 345 sq. km Wildlife Sanctuary, under Project Elephant, is an ideal destination to watch herds of wild elephants. Apart from the freely roaming elephants, tigers, various species of deer, monkeys, birds and so on are also seen here. The trees and plants in the sanctuary are typical of south Indian moist deciduous forests and West Coast semi-evergreen forests. The Forest Department arranges elephant rides. |
