There are nine hairpin bends in the route up the Wayanad ghats. The bends in the ghat road offer panoramic views of the picturesque plains below. This ghat section is also called the ‘Chirapunchi' of Kerala due to the high quantity of rains that fall here each year. The location is only 44 kms from Kozhikkode. Together with the hairpin bends the total length of the ghat road is 14 kms.
