Peermedu Development Society
The Peermedu Development Society is the social service wing of the Catholic Diocese of Kanjirapally, established in 1980. The society, which has a glorious track record spanning three decades, is noted for its community development project.
PDS is the brainchild of Mar Mathew Arackal, the bishop of Kanjirapally Diocese. The society with the vision ‘that they have life and have it abundantly’, has implemented several developmental projects for the benefit of the tribal population, marginal farmers and women and children of the area. The goal of the society is ‘the empowerment of village communities, especially the tribals, women, children and the marginal farmers towards sustainable development by conserving and enhancing local resources in order to have fullness of life.’
