Kerala Tourism gets branded
Kerala Tourism got registered with the Registrar of Trade Marks, under the Government of India, thus making it the first State Tourism Department in the country to do so.
According to the Director of Tourism, Mr. Alkesh Kumar Sharma, the registration of Kerala Tourism as a brand is a morale booster for the overall tourism scenario in the State. This will strengthen the brand equity of Kerala Tourism and will also enhance the quality of services provided. This new move will nullify the misuse of department logos by others. From now onwards, only the department will have the right to use these logos as their trademarks; Mr. Sharma added.
With the trademark application number already allotted by the Registrar, the department is awaiting the permanent registration number in six month?s time. Approval had been given by the Registrar of Trade Marks to six department logos viz. ?Kerala God?s Own Country, Kerala Travel Mart, India International Boat Festival, Evergreen Kerala, Nishagandhi Festival and Athitheyathwathinte Devasparsam.?
