Once again it is that time of the year when art lovers unfailingly keep their date with one event in God’s Own Country – the Nishagandhi Festival.
The 2014 edition of this popular event of Kerala is all set to begin on 20th January at the Nishagandhi amphitheatre in Kerala’s capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. Over the years, it has become one of those cultural carnivals of Kerala that captures the attention of art lovers from around the world.
The seven-day long festival offers a unique opportunity to appreciate new talents in dance and music and enjoy the renditions and performances of artistes of repute. The event takes place during the peak tourism season in Kerala, which would certainly come as added enjoyment and experience for the travellers visiting Kerala.
The Nishagandhi festival brings together on a single platform artistes from different parts of India. The event features traditional and classical forms of dance and music plus contemporary styles. Eminent names in Hindustani, Carnatic music and those from classical dances like Kuchipudi, Odissi, Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam will grace the seven-day cultural fete.
