Kerala Tourism is planning to expand its eco tourism profile with many projects that would literally breathe fresh air into the existing hotspots. An elephant rehabilitation centre will shortly be established at Kottur, with central assistance. Also, the second phase development of Neyyar dam will be undertaken with the aim of transforming the dam area into a prominent eco-tourism centre.

Efforts are on to attract more travelers to Neyyar wildlife sanctuary by arranging safe transport for those travelers who want to experience the adventure of the lion safari park. On the waterfront, Mr. Binoy Viswom, the Minister for Forest, inaugurated the newly constructed floating boat jetty and flagged off the sight seeing boat Agasthya, which can accommodate as many as 22 people.
