Kerala shines at ATM
Kerala Tourism was amongst the 2,200 exhibitors who participated at the Arabian Travel Mart (ATM) held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in May.
The Kerala stand within the India Pavilion was highly popular with visitors who were attracted by the State?s unique products including Ayurveda, hill stations, beaches and backwaters. The delegation from Kerala which included 9 trade partners was headed by Mr. M Sivasankar, Director, Kerala Tourism.
The past few years have seen a sharp rise in the number of visitors from the Middle East, especially from the UAE to Kerala for purposes other than trade. There is an increasing number of visitors who come for medical tourism to Kerala, which is renowned for its world-class healthcare facilities, eminent doctors, salubrious climate and lush green surroundings.
As part of its serious efforts to woo the growing Middle East market, Kerala is targeting the corporate world with its relaxing houseboat cruises in serene backwaters and rejuvenating Ayurveda holidays.
