Kerala, the third stopover point of the much-awaited Volvo Ocean Race, has
won the attention of the Spanish, with the state setting up a promotional
booth at Alicante, Spain, the starting point of the race from 2nd to 11th
October 2008. Kerala Tourism had arranged Kathakali performance on all these
days and this attracted huge crowds. Dr. Venu, V., Secretary, Kerala Tourism,
has said that hosting such a prestigious event is a major leap forward for
the tourism prospects of Kerala.
