KTDC hotels in the State to be given a fillip
The government has taken necessary steps to renovate the KTDC chain of hotels in the state, to add to the quality service that it imparts to Kerala Tourism. An amount of 900 million rupees has been released to this end. The plan also consists of projects to transform eight Yatri Nivases into Tamarind Hotels. The ambitious plans of KTDC were unveiled by Mr Cherian Philip, Chairman, and Mr Mohanlal, MD of KTDC.
The Heritage Block of the 90-year-old Mascot Hotel will be beautified. Thirty rooms will be added to Tea County, Munnar. Convention centres will be constructed at Samudra, Kovalam and Bolghatty Palace, Kochi. Chaitram, (Thiruvananthapuram) and Nandanam (Guruvayur), two budget hotels will be modified into modernized hotels.
