Kerala Tourism envisages special marketing plan for U.S.A

Taking part in a ‘Meeting and Interactive Session organized jointly by India Tourism office, New York and Kerala Tourism at Manhattan in New York recently, the Minister for Tourism, Kerala, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that arrivals from U.S.A., the third largest tourist market for Kerala, have been increasing at over 20% annually. “These encouraging factors have prompted us to come up with an effective marketing plan to make Kerala Tourism more visible in the U.S.A.,” the Minister said.

Attending the event, the Deputy Consul General of India, Dr. Gondane said that Indian consulate has been getting an increasing number of queries on Kerala, which surely is a sign of Kerala’s emerging popularity as a travel destination in this part of the world. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Venu, V., Secretary, Tourism said that U.S.A. has been a traditional market for Kerala and the time has come for Kerala to unveil its full potential and thereby catering more of Kerala’s products and services to travelers from U.S.A. Dr. Venu also highlighted the destinations of Kerala in a presentation, and made himself available for queries during the interactive session. Forty Five tour operators participated in the event.
