Time-bound action plans for tourism development
The state government will take time-bound actions to facilitate the tourism development of Kerala by co-ordinating the functioning of various departments, informed Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Minister for Tourism. Many novel projects, including the eco-tourism plans for Sabarimala and the launching of an International Convention Centre at Aakkulam will be the priorities this year, he informed.
The government is obliged to put forth more responsible and development-oriented tourism projects, he said. The minister released two books on tourism by Mr. B. Vijayakumar: Tourism? Valarchayum Vikasavum and Tourism Employment and Labour Marketing, published by Kerala Bhasha Institute. The minister said that more books will be published to create a better awareness in people about the potentials of tourism industry.
