Kerala Tourism begins database build-up of service providers
Kerala Tourism recently launched a massive data collection
exercise that would soon provide it with a comprehensive database on service
providers in the hospitality sector of Kerala. The database would serve as a
resourceful one for Kerala Tourism, taking into account its use while giving
shape to various developmental programs in the tourism sector. The information
as part of the database would help Kerala Tourism to plan, analyze and implement
programs in future. The database would cover details of service providers in
the category of hotels, home stays, houseboats, ayurveda centres etc. The ongoing
data collection has so far been able to collect details pertaining to nearly
4000 service providers. The database can soon be accessed through the official
website of Kerala Tourism –www.keralatourism.org.
The database currently being developed would also be useful
for tourists, who could have updated information with regard to service providers
and would also be the case with stakeholders in the industry, who could keep
a tab on the available tourism related infrastructure.
