4th International Paragliding at Vagamon

It is once again the turn of paragliders from around the world to set the adrenalin flowing when the 4th International Paragliding begins at Vagamon on September 23, 2009.

Starting in 2006, the subsequent editions of the event literally cast a spell of magic among the local spectators and the popularity of the event is on an all time high this year. Organized jointly by Kerala Tourism and the Adventures Sports and Sustainable Tourism Academy (ASSTA) the fourth edition of the event expects and increase in number of pilots from around the world.

According to ASSTA, the promoters the event at Vagamon is the biggest of its kind in South India and the second biggest for promoting adventure tourism in India.

The event would enable spectators to appreciate the acrobatic skills of international pilots and enjoy the excitement of recreational and professional pilots.

The five-day international paragliding event would see about 75 pilots from all over the world taking to the skies at Vagamon. Acrobatic display would be a major attraction during the course of the event and this time, the spectators would treated to some breathtaking acrobatics by the current world acrobatic champion Mr. Michelle and former champion Mr. David Arufat. Tandem flying would also be part of the event, enabling the public to become part of the action, fun and excitement. There would also be prize-money competitions in various categories of paragliding. Also part of the event would be paragliding training for beginners, hot-air balloon rides, carnival games and rides, food fair and exhibition. For more details log on to www.paraglidingkerala.com.
