As per the statements made in the Lower House of the Parliament, the Union Minister of State, for Tourism, Ms. Kanti Singh highlighted Kerala?s notable achievements in attracting more foreign tourists and in the starting up of new tourism projects.
The figures presented in the Parliament has Kerala occupying the ninth position among Indian states with regard to maximum number of foreign tourist arrivals in the year 2007, which stood at 5,15,808. Delhi leads the table with 20,18,848 foreign tourist arrivals, while Goa took the tenth spot behind Kerala.
