KTDC is numero uno in India
Not withstanding the global financial meltdown, the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) had its task cut out to overcome the crisis. It threw a slew of measures that eventually saw the corporation coming up with 30 properties under its brand. With this, KTDC became the first tourism establishment under the public sector in India to own and operate maximum number of properties catering to travelers from all over the world.
Recently, the KTDC had its official website www.ktdc.com revamped, which was part of its revised marketing strategies to reach all sections of travelers worldwide by promoting its brand philosophy - KTDC properties are destinations. KTDC now has under its belt three heritage properties; seven premium properties; six economy hotels and 14 hotels under the Tamarind brand. If one is to add this total to the motels, restaurants and beer parlours, the total number of KTDC owned properties would come to nearly seventy.
In the marketing front, KTDC has given shape to some rewarding exercises. Attending travel marts in different parts of the world and conducting roadshows inside and outside India to showcase the best of KTDC before tour operators would be one such effort in the coming days.
KTDC has also given shape to different tour packages applicable to hotels coming under a particular economic category.
