Launched in July by the Minister for Tourism, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Login.kerala is the first major initiative by Kerala Tourism to transform the website into a comprehensive web portal in the near future itself.

“It is a bouquet of IT-related initiatives that includes the modification of the website of Kerala Tourism. It is part of Tourism Department’s Visit Kerala-2009 year campaign,” said Secretary for Kerala Tourism, Dr. Venu V.

The facilities launched under Login·kerala include one for ‘mobile campaign’, to create a mobile phone users’ community interested in programs and activities of Kerala Tourism. Another feature is the facility meant for hotel owners to submit the mandatory C-Forms via online, which contains the details of foreign tourists staying at a particular hotel. Also part of the new online initiatives are the ones for travelers meant for locating hotels in Kerala and online room reservation facility. And for the travel / tour operators, they can submit application via online for accreditation. And for all segments of users, the website features blog aggregator to compile the blogs created by various tourists on Kerala; facility to download brochures and make requests for receiving royalty-free video clips, DVDs on Kerala and online video sharing through Kerala Tourism’s branded channel in YouTube.

Summing up the latest set of IT initiatives, the Director for Kerala Tourism, Mr. M. The latest move aimed at providing the best of IT backed facilities to the travel and tour fraternity would go a long way in further popularizing an already acclaimed travel website of Kerala Tourism, he added.
